26 August 2012, North of Coffs Harbour

We’re about 200 nm east of NSW/Qld border. Finally got some wind (rather a lot, actually) and are now sailing UPWIND into a southerly with a rather nasty sea. Fortunately everyone is now used to the bumps and groans, so as I type this, we’re about to launch into a game of 500 after an early lunch/snack. So, all good.

However, I don’t see much joy in sailing 300 nm upwind to Sydney, so instead we’ve gone back to the earlier plan of sailing into Coffs Harbour (we’ll arrive there tomorrow Tues morning), and then spend a day, leaving again (on Resolute) Wednesday about midday. That will get us into Sydney sometime late Thursday night, or early Friday morning. Not long now!!
