19 May 2012, somewhere east of Lord Howe, we think
Trim, taut and terrific on the good ship Resolute? Naturally… First up on the Resolute Weekend Agenda, with looking-great-in-lycra Animal Mick, our flamboyant instructor. He makes us all weak in the abs. Its core, of course.
And the rest of the Resolute Weekend Agenda? Well, there’s post-Pilates coffee on the quarterdeck (a great time to catch up with that oh-so-essential gossip), then a lovely light lunch (smoked salmon, capers, cream cheese on pumpernickel) served on the aft terrace. Afternoon activities you ask? Well there’s the book club meeting on the foredeck trampoline, a men’s ‘Tinshed’ club for frustrated engineers (nothing to fix today), and that very special luxury: the afternoon siesta.
And now, in the immortal words of Nina Simone “Its Saturday Night – Get Loose!!”. A fine meal to start, of course. After a spirited discourse at the Sundowners Sports Fishing Bar, the gurus elected to eat at the Resolute Grand Dining Saloon. Succulent, fresh spring lamb, basted in garlic, herbs, and olive oil (extra virgin, of course), delicately roasted and served with hand picked market vegetables; followed by baked stoned fruit, tinged with brown sugar and finished with rich natural yogurt. To finish it off? A selection of fine cheeses, and port, of course.
And then? Round two of course. But where? The hottest small bar in the South Pacific! The Pacific pussyCAT bar. This place rocks. HarSol on solar powered keyboards. Bill on Base. Killer on percussion. Animal is, well, Animal – warming up the dance floor.
And all at 9 knots……
