Yesterday found us travelling by bus and canoe to the remote Embera Indian village to mingle with traditional communities. Such mixed feelings!! Felt like invaders and voyeurs but by all accounts they have accepted this compromise. The magic of the US$ that accompanies the tourists is the life force behind this remarkable lifestyle. Amazingly they do live like this, only dressing up for the odd visit to town. The village chief has the last word on all village ‘discussions’. Loved the connection I made with Elisette, the beautiful soul I spent most time with. ❤️ – Janice
