Paradise found! Volcanoes, unspoiled, lush islands speckled with waterside villages, maniac tiny trimarans zooming around – the local water taxi. These islands are spectacular, and a reminder of how Bali maybe once was.
Ressie has arrived, having consumed a year’s worth of fuel in the crossing which saw a few boats challenged by fuel shortages and engine trouble. The fleet arrive in Gili Gede separated by three days from first fleet arrival to last limping over the line.
Ken has survived the constant barrage of girlie gossip and giddiness and does seem ready to practice MOB drills and NOT rescue us! But that’s OK…we’ve swapped ressie watches and frozen dinners for paradise in KOKOMO while we await the arrival of the fresh faced enthusiastic outward bound girls. The experience of sailing a beautiful catamaran with a relaxed, experienced generous skipper and wonderful companionship has been amazing. The opportunity to meet some incredibly diverse and interesting crews in both Darwin and Lombok, and have daily radio communication with each of the boats really does fast-track friendships.
This is Glenda and Tracy reluctantly handing over to Rachel, Janice and Gail…happy and priceless memories…thank you Resolute II…we’ve loved being on board.
